Glut-1 Deficiency Syndrome is typically caused by a genetic mutation that causes the body to produce insufficient amounts of the protein responsible for carrying glucose to the brain, leading to seizures, developmental delays and movement disorders along with a variety of other symptoms. This cause is near and dear to my heart as my daughter was born with Glut-1 Deficiency Syndrome.

Sunshine In My Pocket is a vortex shaped asymmetrical triangle shawl that starts from one tip and grows with increases on each row. It is worked up with loads of squishy garter before moving on to a section of stranded colorwork for the star stitches. It finishes with rows of simple eyelet lace. If you are new to stranded color work don’t be intimidated! I’ve included tips to help you through that section.
