Product Details
Tahki Yarns Donegal Tweed is a traditional Irish homespun tweed yarn of 100% pure new wool, in a worsted weight. Tahki founder Diane Friedman was inspired to create Donegal Tweed when she discovered a mill in County Donegal that was spinning lovely wool tweed weaving yarns. The result was an instant classis that's perfect for sweaters, vests and afghans. Available in a wide range of classic colours enhanced by tweed accents of coordinating colours.

I found this so warm to wear when knitted up. A little rough but it certainly helped to get me through the winter. Love the colours too
I've tried several patterns with this yarn and have not found a good one yet. It's very, very stiff. I'm hoping to try something else and then wash it, with the hope that it will soften up. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. It's so pretty, and I love the color.
I have knit with this wool before and gave only swatched the recent purchase. Quality wool, knits up beautifully.
I use Tahki Donegal Tweed to knit ponchos. It is a strong yarn and hold shape beautifully. It also comes in many interesting colors.
I am so pleased with the yarn. It is knitting up beautifully and the color is true to the photo.
When I received the yarn, I was initially put off by the yarn's feel - it feels almost synthetic, dirty in the hand. I knitted up a swatch - looks lovely. The key was wet-blocking it. It feels much more like a regular tweedy 100% wool now. Relieved, but I wish it felt better to knit.
Beautiful, homespun feel. Thin in places and snaps easily when trying but no breakage while knitting up. Truly is a gorgeous yarn!
Knit up well for an Emotional Support Chicken pattern using worsted weight 16 stitches to 4 inches, so Donegal was close. I knitted tight to make it work. Nice texture, just not enough yarn--needed 200 yds, and I had to buy a second skein to finish. So, I'll have to use another kind for the next "chicken"----
