Product Details

This is a pattern for a very “long wingspan” crescent shaped shawlette. It is knit in the Estonian fashion, and there are two methods of making the “nupps” contained within the pattern. There are two different lace stitches contained with in this larger shawlette, which measures 68 inches at the widest points across the top and is 22 1/2 inches deep at the deepest point. It is gently crescent shaped., as a result of short row shaping, done without the need of “wrapping and turning.” If you haven't tried Estonian knitting, this pattern will appeal to you.  It's also perfect for summer.

The stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Intermediate + (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

Any lace yarn that knits to a gauge or 5 1/2 sts/inch and 8 1/2 rows/inch in lace pattern will work for this pattern.  The sample was made using Helen's Lace by Lorna's Laces.
