What you'll need
Product Details
This stranded mitten pattern features mirrored designs on the right and left hands, with a different pattern on the palms. Knit from the cuff up, it features corrugated ribbing and a thumb gusset. The top is finished with grafting a small number of stitches together.
To knit this pattern, you will need fingering weight yarn in two contrasting colors -- approximately 150 yds./137 m of the main color and approximately 135 yds./123 m of the contrast color. (Note that two skeins of the recommended yarn will be more than enough to knit two pairs of mittens!) You'll also need three stitch markers, a yarn needle (to weave in ends), and a length of waste yarn (to hold your thumb stitches). To knit this pattern, you need to know how to knit and purl in the round using two colors, read and work from a colorwork chart, do directional increases (m1L and m1R), and graft using kitchener stitch. Final dimensions: Cuff circumference: 7.5 in./19 cm Length: 8.75 in./22.25 cm.
