This design originally featured in in Issue 1 of Making Stories Magazine.
Sinewy, crossed stitches flow down the leg of these socks, ending in a simple rib.
The socks use a top down construction, with an unusual and fun cabled heel flap.
Sizes
Finished foot circumference: 15.5 (16.75, 17.75, 18.75, 20) cm / 6 (6.5, 7, 7.25, 7.75)” – recommended to be worn with 2.5 cm / 1” of negative ease.
Yarn
1 skein of Triskelion Yarn Scylfing Sock (50% Bluefaced Leicester, 25% Gotland, 25% Wensleydale; 350 metres / 383 yards per 100g).

Needles
2mm / US 0 circular needle with a cable length of at least 80cm / 32” (or size to obtain gauge)
This pattern uses the magic loop technique but but can easily be adapted to work for any in-the-round technique.
Gauge
36 sts x 48 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” (in the round, in stockinette stitch, after blocking) 44 sts x 56 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” (in the round, in main pattern stitch, after blocking)
