Product Details

This is a relatively simple shawl that is very cosy and quick to knit, thanks to the chunky yarn (one of my test knitters completed it in just a couple of days!). I recommend using pure wool yarn for this shawl so that it blocks well, otherwise there is a chance the fabric won’t stretch sufficiently around the central diamond shape.

Yarn requirements:  4 x 100g New Lanark Chunky in Limestone (120m per 100g)  Needles: 5.5 mm/ US size 9 circular needles with 100cm/40 inch cord Notions: at least 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends Gauge: 12 stitches and 15 rows per 10cm/4inches in garter stitch Measurements:  Wingspan: 150cm  Depth: 61cm

Stitches used: knits, purls, yarn overs, right twist, left twist, knit 2 together, slip slip, knit, pass the slipped stitch over

The pattern explains how to work twisted stitches.  The twisted stitch panel is charted for reference, but the pattern is fully written out, including the twisted stitch panel.
