Product Details

Silk and mohair knit at a loose gauge reminds me of looking through wisps of cloud and mist – the soft glow is apparent from afar, but it’s not until you get up close that you can see distinct shapes and structure. Tule, named for the fog that settles in my home town in California’s Central Valley in the winter and early spring, is a simple top-down pullover that showcases this type of fabric. The majority of the sweater is worked in stockinette stitch, and the collar and slight puff at the bottoms of the sleeves are pulled in and gathered by bands of Linen Stitch, which looks pretty and unique in the mohair. Tule features a wide collar and a circular yoke, waist shaping at the sides, and a long, tunic length. A turned hem finishes the bottom edge. This is a light and airy, feminine piece that is just the right weight for transitional winter-to-spring wear.

Specific yarn requirements: 3 (4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7) balls of Knit Picks Aloft in color Oat, an alternative is given below.
