Product Details
These unisex socks are knit from the top (cuff) down in the round, and feature twisted-stitch patterns and simple ribbing. They have a triangular gusset, a square, slip-stitch heel flap, and traditional wide toe shaping. Height of the leg and length of the foot may be adjusted for a custom fit for the wearer.
While a staple of 19th-century agriculture, the two-horse plow-hitch is still used in the 21st century in many areas of rural Vermont due to the mountainous terrain. Many small farmers use a 2-horse team to plow with, as well as to haul sledges during the snowy season. These socks feature motifs reminiscent of curving plow lines of the late fall fields, and sledge tracks in the early winter snow.
