The Venice shawl is a triangle shawl, with regular increases on one side only, thus creating an asymmetric shape.
A very easy Tile Square stitch pattern is worked throughout the shawl. After each 3rd repeat of the stitch pattern, a purled row combining the main yarn with a strand of fluffy mohair (or optionally 2-3 strands of simple mohair) creates a striking contrast. For the detail lovers, tassels with the contrast colour can be added at the end of each coloured stripe, such as shown below. This knitting pattern is definitely beginner-friendly!
The model measures 140 x 160 cm (55 x 63”). If you wish to make it larger, or on the contrary, smaller, you can easily do so by simply adapting the number of repeats of the pattern made, then switching to the final binding once you have reached the desired length.
