Product Details
Inspired by the seafaring traditions of Britain, this modern style gansey-patterned men's jumper is closely-fitted (1in/2.5cm ease) in keeping with traditional fisherman's jumpers. Worked in two easy-to-remember, traditional gansey stitch patterns, little construction details (like a gusset) give a clean fit at the armholes, accommodating the more modern drop sleeve. It’s sized from 32 - 60” chest so there’s plenty of range to fit any of the men in your life. This knit shines in the Wensleydale Longwool DK, which is a gorgeous wool from a funky sheep breed, born, bred, and spun all in Yorkshire.
Wensleydale Longwool has a slight halo, which comes out more once blocked, and a bit of shine as well which highlights these textured stitches beautifully. Wensleydale tends to look a bit fine on the needle when first swatched up, so don’t worry if you can see a bit of air between your stitches. Be sure to give it a bath before you check your gauge (as recommended in the pattern),
