Product Details
This pattern if for one of my most ornately cabled warm pocket shawls. Both cables come to us from the Shetland Islands. The border stitch is a fairly easy stitch. The shawl incorporates the two very complex cables (one a larger pattern which is similar to the smaller cable) to form a single pocket shawl. The patch pockets ensure that the shawl will stay comfortably on your shoulders. If you love knitting cables, you’ll enjoy this shawl made using worsted weight yarn, guaranteeing that you’ll be warm on a cool spring evening.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of cable knitting).
The border stitch and the cable focal stitch are both charted and written out line by line. There is a diagram contained within the pattern to assist you with pocket placement, and there are also instructions for an optional crocheted border.
Any worsted weight yarn will work for this pattern. No crochet hooks needed if you don't want to edge the shawl.
