I saw this cable pattern on a sweater in a store. Of course, I wouldn't buy the sweater because I can knit. Since I'm not the most enthusiastic sweater knitter, I never got around to making it. Fast forward a couple years (ok, more than a couple) to the receipt of a skein of sock yarn. I remembered this cable pattern and realized it would work well for a child's garment.
