Product Details
Here is a way to dive into the spectacular splashy underwater world, without even getting your feet wet!
The whale shark is not a whale, but a shark. It is the largest fish in the world and can weigh as much as 20000 kilograms; that is the weight of over 15 average cars! Attached to the whale shark you can often see the remora or suckerfish. So, why not knit both fab fish, so together the two can… just keep swim-fin… just keep swim-fin…
This 24 cm whale shark was made on 2.5 mm double pointed needles (US 1.5) in Rowan Felted Tweed yarn seafarer (177) and Lana Grossa Cool Wool Cotton Mix 130 (116) white. The 7 cm suckerfish was knitted in miniature on 1 mm dpn in Scanfil (sock mending yarn (002) white and (052) grey. Both can be done on thicker needles, in heavier yarn and will turn out a little bulkier.
TIP: with a snap fastener, the remora can be attched and detached as you please!
Both are easy projects, knitted flat with some intarsia work.
