Product Details
When the wind blows here, and it does more often than not, it can be bitterly cold.
This hat features double thickness earflaps and the slip stitch colourwork pattern (only one colour worked per round) separated by garter stitch ridges gives a denser fabric to the hat body than just stocking(ette) stitch. It has a little negative ease to give a close fit.
Designed to use up scraps (either dk or light worsted) this is also a fun knit to plan your colour combinations for each of the colourwork bands. The pattern refers to the colours used in the sample, (6 colours for the bands and one for all the dividing garter stitch ridges), but you can use as many as you like. It also looks good just worked with a variegated yarn and a solid contrast colour as done by one of my wonderful testers.
The pattern is charted using StitchMastery and includes full written instructions.
Stitches used: k, p, s1p, k2tog, kfb, M1L, M1R, JMCO (link to tutorial provided)
