Product Details

This backpack is made for toddlers and smaller children to bring a comforting elephant friend for those first days at school or nursery. The bag has an elasticated top to make it easier to get into for little ones, plus a toggle closure for extra security. You can make yours as a backpack or without the straps to use as a pyjama case for a child’s bedroom (or when the backpack is outgrown, remove the straps to give your elephant a new life). Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the backpack is knitted in aran weight yarns. This pattern incorporates both knitting in the round and also knitting flat using single pointed needles. The strap is an i-cord tube which is worked on two DPNs. For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish. The elephant’s body of the bag is 19cm wide x 5cm deep x 22cm tall.
