Wintering cap is inspired by the folk textiles of the Russian North, especially by the Komi knitting tradition.
The pattern seems to be complex, but it is delightfully easy to knit. The cap is unisex with a deep, “hugging” fit. The cap is constructed without a customary ribbing. It has an inner fold for warmth and styling.
Total yarn needed: 50-80g of different colors in fingering (light weight) yarn. This is a great occasion to use your yarn leftovers, because the instructions include how to use mystery yarn (i.e. yarn with lost label) for this project.
