Product Details
Is it weaving or is it an illusion? This cowl is hand knit in the round using moss stitch and woven float technique. (This is very similar to stranded color work though the focus is on the purl side of the work instead of the knit side.) It's a lovely, quick project that is bound to turn heads, ideal for advanced beginners.
Choose two high contrast colors. MC (Main Color) makes the longer floats used to create bold lines (teal in the sample). CC (Contrast Color) makes the grid (cream tweed in the sample). Add some fun with one hand dyed skein matched to a plain, solid color or experiment with tweed yarns or slow graduated color change yarns.
The pattern makes a dense and cuddly cowl to keep out the cold and is tall enough to cover your ears.
Basic chart reading required. There are comprehensive instructions for the weaving technique including photos and full support if you need help. Want to try?
