Row 2: Place 1 double crochet into the 1st stitch, into the next stitch place 5 treble crochet all in the same stitch (it should look like a fan or the shell stitch if you are familiar).
4
Pull up a loop after completing your 5th treble crochet and remove the hook. Count back 5 stitches and place your hook into the treble crochet (the 1st treble crochet you made in the fan). With your hook still in the first treble crochet, go through the loose active loop you removed your hook from.
5
Once the loop is around your hook you can tighten the loop again. Pull the loop on your hook through the loops of the first treble crochet to close and complete the Popcorn stitch.
Pro Tip
When you pull your loop closed, be careful not to pull too tight or else this will make your work curve.
