    Beschreibung

I noticed this little bear when I bought the Lazy Dazy Duck pattern I've made a few little bears recently and this one looked similar but there is something about starting a new pattern. I was wrong about it being similar though it is ( in my opinion of course) better and easier especially the arms which are shaped with little fat paws and proper elbows. The top is angled and makes it easier to attach either by sewing on or using safety joints as I did. I added four rows to the legs and deducted the four in the body as initially I was going to make some pants although I forgot to do that with the hoodie so it should be shorter. I know Pats larger bears are always well shaped and this little one is just the same. I used Aran weight for the bear which measures 10" and DK for the hoodie. I will definitely be making more of this little cutie.

Aww so sweet, love the face detail, not easy on a small bear xxx I try to make every bear design as individual to previous bears as possible, adding a different little something.

Thank you Pat. I'm really like the little bears at the moment and this one with his shapely arms is at the top of my favourites.😄

Can never resist a teddy, especially when they have a jacket as well! He looks really soft and cuddly. Agree that this is a good pattern, have made a couple and always look cute.

He is lovely Christine, such a perfect wee face and I love the wool you used for him so soft and fluffy. I agree with you about the wool for the hoodie it does look thicker than dk.😊😊

Thanks Michelle. the yarn is a bit confusing as it did feel like DK when I was knitting it and the needles were the right ones although it was mostly cotton which doesn't have much stretch and it's made in garter stitch which also makes it looks bigger. I am going to make another at some point and convert it to stocking stitch which I think may prefer. 😀

@Christine R: it is lovely wool Christine such a pretty colour. That's why I am always worried about buying wool on line because dk can be so thin I would call it 4ply then some is thicker like aran.😊😊Hope you are well and enjoying your lovely weather.😊😊

@Michelle M: You're so right Michelle back in the good old days yarn used to be standardised. Now you can buy three different DK for instance and as you say they are all different thickness My mum was a regular knitter when I was growing up and she once took some wool back to the shop because it didn't knit to the recommended tension and they refunded her money and sent it back to the manufacturers. Those were the days! 🤣

@Christine R: Just part of the enjoyment of knitting, coming across a pattern you haven't tried before. Whether it's old or new, same pleasure. Making some baby toys, including the small duck, then planning to finally make Hamish! 😊

A lovely Blueberry Bear Christine. I just love the hoodie, especially it having ‘room for growth’. 💕 Love the grey yarn you’ve used for the bear too. What is it please?

Thanks Helen. I think she has a bit of growing to do. The yarn for the hoodie was labelled as DK although I think it was nearer to Aran so it should really be smaller. At one time you could guarantee that all yarns were standardized but these days you can get three different suppliers all saying DK and all being different thickness!. The yarn for the bear is called Bergere De Plume it is very similar to King Cole Embrace but unfortunately both are discontinued now. Etsy sell one very similar called Naco Paris you can only get it from Eastern Europe countries but I've bought from them and never had a problem. .

@Christine R: Thanks Christine. Yes the Bergere was what I used for my Herdwick Ram I think. So sorry it is discontinued. I only have it in dark green now which I don’t fancy for a bear 🤔

@Helen B: Oh I don't know Helen the green is as lovely shade and it will be unique! I have enough grey to make one more and about 50grams in the tan colour but every time I think I'll use it I think I might prefer it for something else so it's lasting me a long time 😆
