    I wanted something small to make for my first top down project

    Andere : I bought these flower shaped buttons from my local market. The pattern shows the buttons worn at the back, but the shaping is the same front and back, and I think it would look pretty worn with the buttons on the front.

      I’ve recently become aware of and started top down knitting. Love the fact it’s pretty much ready to wear when you finish.

      You place stitch markers to divide the stitches between front, back, and sleeves. Instructions are given for increases either side of the markers. You have to pay attention to what you’re doing for the top part, but once you get past the underarms you’re on a straight run. I thought it an ideal pattern for a first top down project. If you’re an experienced enough knitter to be intermediate level you won’t find this too difficult. I really enjoyed making this.
