Product Details

When I was a kid, my grandparents lived in Grand Junction, CO and had a large acreage full of fruit trees. One summer, a pair of peacocks moved in, and they never left. I nicknamed them King and Queenie, and they would wander around the yard and perch on the roof.

I remember thinking that King was pretty when he had his tail up in his classic tough-guy display, but that he was most beautiful when he was strutting along, his tail gently floating behind him, swaying in time. I always marveled at how his long feathers always fell perfectly back into place after his dance. In this spirit, I chose not to make a peacock with its tail in the air, but rather one with its tail folded into that soft royal train.

Advanced. Knowledge needed of chains (ch), single crochet (sc), double crochet (dc), increases and decreases. Knowledge of amigurumi part attachment is recommended. Pattern uses non-traditional shaping techniques.
