Materials required:Hose - size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 55 yards/50 metres 1-ply wool. Cap - size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles, 28 yards/25 metres 1-ply wool. Note: the cap may be knit for a boy by using size 21 (0.80 mm) knitting needles in place of size 19 (1.00 mm/US size 5/0) knitting needles.
If required the cap may be felted (as would have been the norm in Tudor times), however you must use a pure wool and remember the felting process will remove any mothproofing added by the manufacturer. The cap will shrink considerably on felting.
Approximate finished sizes: Cap - 1¼-inches/ 3.5 cm diameter. Hose - ¾-inch/2 cm at thigh, 3-inches/7.5 cm from toe to thigh, heel to toe ¾-inch/2 cm.
Gauge – Gauge is not important as dolls house dolls vary greatly in size.
