Of course, this pattern is not exclusively for pinks and blues, it lends itself to endless colour variations, allowing you to create a versatile and unique hat and cardigan set, making the perfect gift for baby!

This pattern is suitable for crocheters of all ability levels; it uses half double crochet (half treble crochet UK) stitches, single crochet (double crochet UK), chain stitches,half double crochet decrease (half treble decrease) and the magic ring (to begin the hat). It works up beautifully in Stylecraft Special DK (or any soft acrylic double knit yarn). A 4mm hook is recommended for both items.
