Brrrr, in colder weather its lovely to get outdoors for a walk, so long as you have the right clothing. Here are some beautiful socks in DK/8-ply yarn, with the heels, soles and toes worked with 2 strands of yarn held together. This results in super warm comfy feet and less darning! Do those little bobbles remind you of snowballs?
The socks illustrated were knitted with 1x100g ball of Rico Superba 8-ply. When working with 2 strands, you can take one strand from the inside and one from the outside of the ball; or, wind it into 2 equal balls. Maybe even buy 2 balls and knit 2 pairs!
The Wee Duchess includes an option to use her unique technique of reconciling the differing tensions of the sole and instep by adding in additional rows, using a modified Japanese turning technique.
