Albiera

Albiera, « frost » in Occitan, are a snowy pair of convertible mittens. It starts with a delicate twisted ribbing detail on the cuffs that is mirrored inside the wrist and merges into a fun chunky cable that blends in the simple stockinette. The pattern provides instructions on how to make these mittens convertible so that the round top of the mitten is detachable and lets you use your fingers. Albiera comes in three different sizes, each of them charted : worked in DK weight, it's a quick and accessible project for an adventurous or intermediate knitter.
