Alex is a simple seamless top-down baby cardigan with striped garter edgings. The pattern is suitable for the advanced beginner/intermediate knitter who has some experience of seamless knitting.
Instructions for working the increases and other stitches are given in the abbreviations section.
Small amounts of yarn are used for the contrast colours which is ideal for using up some left-over yarn from other projects.
Button bands are knitted at the same time as the rest of the garment and instructions are given for positioning the buttonholes on the left or right for either a boy or girl.
I recommend that you choose a size depending on body measurements. A full schematic is included in the pattern.
