A quick and fun project to make, Alfie is a great way to practice using bigger needles and a scrumptious, chunky yarn. Suitable for men or women, Alfie is knitted in the round and designed to be slouchy rather than beanie. The hat is knitted on circular needles using the magic loop technique but can easily be made using double pointed needles as well. Knitted on 7 mm circular needles (alternatively double pointed needles). Finished measurements: Circumference [relaxed rib] - 34 cm; Depth - 24 cm. Tension: Not crucial. Photographed in the colour Alpaca Light. Knitted in Purl Alpaca Designs 100% pure alpaca Chunky yarn. A substitute yarn is shown below.
