I have always loved Lego and wanted to make a blanket based on the iconic bricks. However the only patterns I could find didn't really look quite right and they all meant making loads of individual blocks to be joined together. I absolutely hate doing that!! So I set about working out how to make a blanket without all that joining. The result is this pattern. In the booklet you will find two ways of making the blanket; either truly all-in-one or, if you want to have isolated colour blocks, a pattern for long strips of blocks to join later. Yes I know I said no joining but it is only a little bit and can be done as you go along.
This blanket can actually be made any size you wish by using thicker or thinner yarn or just starting with more/fewer chain stitches and going on till it is as big or small as you want. Full instructions on how to increase/decrease the size are included.
You could make this up in any yarn and colour[s] of your choosing but aran or double knit yarns are recommended. I have suggested either a Stylecraft OR Hayfield DK. To estimate amount required allow about 9.5 – 10 metres [about 32 feet] of yarn per Lego brick. The blanket shown used about 980 metres in total.
