Ampersand "And" Symbol Overlay Mosaic Square

The Ampersand symbol “&” is used in home decor to symbolize togetherness, family, and hope. Perfect to use in wedding or anniversary gifts, or to add a nice cozy family touch to your home.

This pattern is for an overlay mosaic crochet square that can be used in other types of projects, such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, table mats, etc.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

You will need 2 colors of yarn - one for the background, another for the Ampersand sign. You could alternate back colors to create stripes or use variegated yarn for a different look.

This is a great way to use up scraps! You will need approximately 2 oz each (100 yards) of both the background color and the Ampersand color, when using a worsted or aran (wt 4) type of yarn.
