Ariel Mermaid sweater

Inspiration

Knitting allows you to create garments in three dimensions. We can take advantage of this quality to create textures that give life and movement to our creations to wrap our little ones in their daily lives and also encourage their creativity. The tail, braid and arms of the mermaid come to life to become almost a doll embedded in her sweater.

2 (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16) years old. As every little one is different you can be guided not only by the years, but also by the measurements of the bust width which is 34 (36, 39, 41, 44, 46, 49, 51) cm/ 13.5 (14.5, 15.5, 16.5, 17.5, 18.5, 19.5, 20.5)“

Construction notes

The sweater starts at the back. It is knitted starting at the back of the neck and working down the entire backside. The stitches are picked up to knit the front from top-down. After shaping the neckline the mermaid pattern is worked top-down. The mermaid is the same size in all sizes, but it is centered so that it is well positioned in each size.
