Not sure if your colors work together? Take a black and white photo of your yarn choice or a normal photo and turn it into black and white. The more contrast you see in the photo, the more likely there will be enough contrast when knitted up, too.
This hat is a great project for colorwork beginners as it is worked with only two colors per round.

Sample yardage with folded, double-layer brim: MC: 70yds/64m in color 00 (naturel). CC1: 73yds/67m in color 27 (gold). For a single-layer brim approx. 24yds/38m. CC2: 26yds/24m in color 05 (black).
