This cowl features a texture-rich alternative to stranded knitting. Contrasting colored yarn is held double and held to the front or the back of the work to create woven patterns on a field of plain stockinette stitch. The technique is easy and the results are reminiscent of chunky hand woven textiles. Construction: The cowl is worked in the round, starting with a provisional cast on. Once the cowl is knit to the appropriate length, the provisional stitches are removed and the live stitches at the beginning and end of the cowl are joined to form a continuous tube.
The pattern includes charted and written instructions for the woven chevrons. Measurements: One Size Circumference: 29½ inches; 75 cm Height: 7¾ inches; 19.5 cm
