Bahamian reef fish

The dazzling diversity of finned friens found in the Caribbean Sea is one of the reasons people get hooked on snorkeling and scuba diving here, around the exquisite islands! Among the ornate opulence of fish species around the islands, you’ll discover finned friends, comprising every color of the rainbow and a plenitude of patterns.

This pattern contains the 7cm rock beauty, 6.5 cm spotted drum, 10.5 cm stoplight parrotfish and the 6 cm yellow tube sponge. A reef fish is a great project to use up any scraps you have lying around. Together, these fish make a great mock aquarium or a colorful crib mobile.

This a fun, fast and easy knit with some intarsia work, done on 2.00 mm double pointed needles (UK 12, US 0) in a super fine yarn (Scanfil Mending Wool in various shades, in this case). They can be done on thicker needles in heavier yarn and will turn out somewhat bulkier.

Even if getting submerged is not your thing, you can have a fin-tastic time knitting these underwater buddies!
