Balin

Balin is a unisex sock pattern in two sizes worked top-down with a cable pattern on the front and double seed stitch on the back. The pattern continues onto the heel flap. The socks are finished with a spiral toe that doesn’t require grafting. The cables will be shown to best advantage in a solid or semi-solid yarn. The pattern has a moderate amount of stretch but it is recommended to try on the sock as you knit to ensure a good fit. Both charted and written instructions are included.

Note: I had a very small amount of yarn left for size S-M with a 10in / 25.4cm cuff that fits a man's size 8. If you are knitting size L, you may wish to knit only 2 leg repeats or use an additional skein of yarn.
