Ballroom cowl

It is dark. My heart beats and I can hear my own breathing. I walk to the middle of the dance floor. I bend my body to the starting position. The presenter repeats my name, the crystal chandeliers explode into their splendor. The music begins. This is where I belong.

The Ballroom is a simple circular cowl with a beautiful lace edge on the other long side. The cowl is worked in rounds. The lace pattern resembles ballroom chandeliers. The rest of the cowl is worked with three-row seed stitches. The piece is to be worn wrapped twice around the neck.

Yarn: Malabrigo yarn Sock in colorway Pearl. 1 skein is required.

Needles: 3 mm/US2.5 circular needle, 60 cm /24 inches long.

Size: The cowl circumference is 120 cm/ 57 inches and it is 15 cm/5 3⁄4 inches high.

Gauge for lace: One chart repetition is 8 cm/31⁄4 inches wide and 4 cm/1 3⁄4 inches high.Gauge for seed stitch: 13 sts x 21 rows = 5 cm/2 inches.
