The stitch combination looks great in solid colorways, long and short variegated colorways and even speckled and striped colorways. Added slip stitches provide vertical columns that are not lost in the natural color shifts of non-solid yarns. This would also be a great classic knit in a solid color and then pair it with any style coat. It is knit flat from the bottom up with soothing i-cord borders all around.
