What could be more classic than a cabled V-neck cardigan? The Bitterroot Cardigan is perfect for cool weather adventures or lounging around the house on chilly winter days. Knit it in Green Mountain Spinnery’s new yarn Cozy Cotton, due out in April 2024.
Work the body in one piece from the bottom up, beginning with k2, p2 rib which continues up into the cables, paired with twist stitches and moss stitch panels. When dividing for the armholes, begin the neck shaping. Once divided for the armholes, work the fronts and back separately to the shoulders, which are shaped using German Short-rows. The shoulders are joined using Three-Needle Bind-Off.
Featuring folded up cuffs, the sleeves are worked in the round from the cuff up, with a cable panel centered on each sleeve and moss stitch on each side of the cable panel.
A single layer shawl collar is added, using short-rows to shape it before adding the front bands and One-Row Button-Holes.
