Blooming Heart

This charming crochet heart works up quickly, is fun to make and requires very little yarn. A small white flower is nestled in a lacy red heart and framed by a delicate white border. The variety of stitches keeps things interesting, and you’ll enjoy seeing the heart take shape. Measures about 6” across the widest part by 5” down the middle and just over 5.5” from highest edge to lowest point. Makes a nice applique to decorate other items and projects or a hanging decoration or magnet. Even if Valentine’s Day is around the corner, you’ll have time to make several of these. F Hook (3.75 mm). Worsted weight yarn, about 40 yds. red and 25 yds. white. Shown in Red Heart Super Saver, Cherry Red #0319, White #0311. Premier Basix in Red and White are a good substitute but check your guage if size is important. For hanging: 8” – 10” yarn or ribbon. For magnet: 2” x 2” square of flexible flat magnet and craft glue. Stitch Markers helpful.
