Brodgar Sweater

I have always liked the look of cable patterns but find using a cable needle a bit of a bother. I always lose my cable needle and find that searching for it breaks the rhythm of my knitting. So, anything that looks like cables but doesn’t need a cable needle is a win! This top down, v neck, relaxed fit raglan sweateris decorated with mock cable patterns of twisted stitches at centre front and down the sleeves. Tutorials are given in the pattern for twisted stitches, casting on over a gap, and stretchy bind-off. The twisted stitch panel is worked from a chart or written instructions. The Ness of Brodgar is an amazing Neolithic site in Orkney where there are stone carvings which inspired the panels on this jumper.
