This is a button up boot cuff, so no need to try and cram your pants through it to get it into the right place. It is made from the side so can be made in any length, the pattern could also be easily adjusted to make it taller if needed.
This pattern contains written instructions. As this pattern is a "keep going till it fits" type of pattern there is no gauge required and any hook and yarn can be used. I suggest a bulkier yarn as if you go with a lighter weight the boot cuff will be very short.
