Caperuzo Bonnet

This bonnet style hat is simply adorable. It is a warm accessory, simple to make, and with a vintage touch that brings a lot of style to the little ones. It is constructed in a single piece, from a rectangle that combines plain rows of single crochet and others with popcorn stitch.

In the original version I decided to knit it in a single tone of superwash merino wool and DK thickness, but those playful balls can be made in a contrasting color, in fade and, why not, in various shades. The result is always charming: a comfortable, warm and firm hat, thanks to the cord that holds it in place and keeps the ears covered.

The Caperuzo Bonnet is a great alternative for children under two years old, but you can also adapt it to older children, with the pattern explanations. It is quick to knit and you can have different color versions depending on the outfit, or create a unique gift.
