The Cherry and Plum shawl is inspired by Hanami, a long-standing Japanese tradition of welcoming spring. Also known as the “cherry blossom festival,” this annual celebration is about appreciating the temporal beauty of nature.
Finished measurements 70”/178 cm wingspan. 32”/81 cm height from cast on to bind off edge along the longest chevron point. Measurements are taken after blocking.
Yarn Fingering weight yarn (approximate amounts). Color A: 300 yds/274 m Color B: 240 yds/219.5 m Color C: 270 yds/247 m Color D: 306 yds/280 m Color E: 343 yds/314 m
Needles Size US 6/4 mm circular needle 32”/80 cm long, or size to obtain gauge. While gauge is not critical for this project, the different gauge can affect the size and overall yardage.
Notions Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Gauge 20 sts and 40 rows = 4”/10 cm on size US 6/4 mm needles in Garter st, after blocking.
