American crochet terms
A slouchy hat in a modern chevron design, stripe it in any way you’d like. The hat works up quickly so it is fun to experiment with different colors and patterns of stripes. I like to crochet the hat in a self-striping yarn or a yarn with long color ways so there is no need to change yarns and no need to sew in lots of tails! But making stripes is a great way to use up left over yarn from your stash. It is a flexible pattern; its easy to change the size or to make a little cap or a bigger, slouchier hat.
