This retro inspired ski hat began to take shape as I looked for a way to combine a beautifully outsized pompom and slip stitch mosaic colour work. Although the effect is richly textured and looks complicated, it’s deceptively simple with only one colour used per round as the pattern is created using slipped stitches. This pattern was first published in Issue 35 of Knit Now,. I have since reformatted the pattern and extended the colourwork chart to make a slouchier version possible.
