Chunky Cotton Crochet Tote Bag

I have designed this easy crochet bag with basic crochet stitches using US terminology of chains, single crochet, half double crochets and double crochet stitches so it is not complicated but still has an overall affect of looking fabulous. For UK crocheters there is a stitch conversion for you. I have designed this bag using 2 strands of 10 ply chunky cotton yarn together to give the bag extra durability and chunkiness. This pattern is very easy to follow with a concise step by step guide showing large images at each step.

CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 5mm, USA: 8/H, UK: Size 6 CROCHET HOOK: METRIC: Size 5.00mm, USA: H-8, UK: 6 (for edging detail) I used 5 balls of colour 1 (cream) and 4 balls of colour 2 (denim blue) cotton 50 gram 10 ply yarn to complete this bag crocheting the 2 yarn strands together at the same time for a chunky sturdy finish. Any yarn that is a chunky 10-12 ply in cotton or cotton/acrylic would be suited to this project. Darning needle to sew in ends.
