Cloud Shadows is a project that is hard to put down. The combination of garter stitch and stripes is very addictive and the beautiful lace pattern is intuitive to knit. The lace blocks balance out the shawl and contrast wonderfully with the more graphic stripes. Choose two contrasting colours and cast on for a shawl you don’t want to stop knitting.
You will need approximately 366 m / 400 yds of MC and 183 m / 200 yds of CC in fingering weight yarn. The sample was knit using Old Maiden Aunt Superwash Merino 4ply in Seen the Ocean (MC) and Dreich (CC). And alternative yarn is suggested below.
