Coeur de Lion

A shawl with hearts, to wear proudly as a Coat of Arms!

Inspired by Gudrun Johnston’s work and her use of traditional Shetland construction, the shawl is knit flat in one piece. The creation of the garter stitch triangle makes it easy to pick up stitches on the side to knit the lace pattern. Finally, the border is worked lateraly, illustrating a lovely graphic edging.

The lace pattern comes both in charted and written explanations.

Un shawl avec des coeurs, à porter fièrement comme un blason!

Pour ce modèle, je me suis inspirée du travail de Gudrun Johnston et plus particulièrement de son utilisation de la méthode de construction traditionnelle Shetland. Le shawl se tricote à plat, en une seule pièce. A partir du triangle central au point mousse, les mailles sont très facilement relevées sur les côtés pour tricoter une première partie dentelle délicate, avec ses rangées de petits coeurs. Et pour terminer, la bordure vient se rajouter de manière latérale, pour une belle finition graphique.
