I really do like this ruana. It is very versatile and can be worn in several different ways -- crossed in the front, open in the front, or one front panel over the shoulder. It fits a lot like a rectangular poncho, except that it is open in the front. As you can see from the photos, it has a beautiful drape in the back.
This pattern is listed as INTERMEDIATE, but it would be suitable for a CONFIDENT BEGINNER.
The ruana is worked as one continuous piece. The main stitch for this pattern is double crochet. The “lacy” / decorative sections consist of chain spaces and double crochet stitches.
