Note: the lacy border adds 1 and 1/2 inches to the shawl. I have included that in the measurements above. Gauge is not critical to this pattern, but I had 16 stitches per 4 inches. In the photo above, if you look closely, you will notice that only the bottom edge of the crochet shawl is lacy. That is achieved by chain stitches and single crochet.
