Dark Nights was originally published online, as part of The Yarn Collective’s Sage Collection. This set is now available as a PDF pattern as of February 2022.
Notes: Yarns A and B are never used together in the same round. If making the full set, only one skein of yarn B will be required. Two skeins of yarn A will still be needed – one for the hat and one for the mittens.
Mitten Gauge: 21 sts & 40 rows = 10 cm / 4” over colour work pattern on 4.5 mm / US 7 after blocking.
Hat Gauge: 19 sts & 34 rows = 10 cm / 4” over colour work pattern on 4.5 mm / US 7 after blocking.
The smaller circumference of the mittens results in a tighter gauge than that of the hat, even when using the same needle. However, depending on your knitting style you may find you also need to use a smaller needle to achieve the tighter gauge.
